“To be 40 years old and to get up and to look myself in the mirror and see the woman that I’ve become.”– Jennifer Yon

A truly multifaceted entrepreneur, Jennifer Yon is the owner and founder of business lifestyle publication IBA Success and Jennifer Yon Agency — a boutique public relations and management agency. Prior to becoming successful as a business owner, Jennifer was no stranger to overcoming unexpected challenges.

One of the most pivotal moments in her life was when she became a mother in her teens. It’s what triggered her path toward building courage and strength, so she could be able to give her daughter everything. Jennifer’s passion is sharing that path that led her toward her achievements with others to help them reach their goals.

Achieving Multiple Streams of Income

Jennifer’s magazine, IBA Success, serves as a marketing vehicle for nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs. The publication is targeted toward a wide audience, including 18-year-olds just starting out to veterans leaving their fields. It focuses on telling the stories of her clients —

“like a good movie with commercials in between,” she says.

When she’s not running her agency and publication, Jennifer works as an IRS tax representative with 20 years of experience. Her vision was always to generate multiple streams of income, and she’s done just that.

While the January-through-April tax season keeps her busy every year, Jennifer manages to find time to also work as a business strategist at her agency. Coaching entrepreneurs on how to set up their businesses to generate revenue, she strives to create

“Purpose, passion and profits”

for her clients by wearing many different hats.

The Power of Partnership

Jennifer believes in the power of relationships and maintains consistent partnerships with several different organizations.

“In order for all of us to grow and reach our goals, sometimes we have to bring in the right partner,”

she explains. Her partnership with the “Peace On The Streets” radio show, for example, led her to host her own segment called “Wine Down with Jen” every Wednesday. She also has a new partnership in the works with Modern Profits — a networking event company that focuses on educating entrepreneurs.

Overcoming Discouragement

Business endeavors can sometimes begin with a lot of rejection. That’s why Jennifer advises doing something you’re genuinely passionate about. Any initial disappointment can therefore be overcome, especially since “you have to go through lots of no’s before you get a yes.” Although her services may not be for everyone, finding the right clients is what has kept her growing and moving forward all this time.

Staying Motivated

There is never a dull moment for this entrepreneur, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. The variety is what she loves most about her career, as every day is different. Her roles can range from doing taxes one day to strategizing with a client on starting a whole new business the next.

So, what motivates her?

“To be 40 years old and to get up and to look myself in the mirror and see the woman that I’ve become … that’s what excites me because I want to be better and better every day,”
